Exposure

Following the brief 'Communication is a virus', a group of peers had created a typographic blog; TYPE&EYE.

I have seen numerous similar blogs however as it was run by a group of friends, I believed it to be a good idea to contribute to, one, provide content and gain exposure for myself:

I submitted to examples of typeface designs:
An album redesign I had completed as a response to a brief on the Extended Diploma at Leeds College Of Art.

A geometric typeface I had created as part of a brief that I did not use in the final response.
As well as the content on the Type and Eye blog, they also tweeted the post with a preview of the typefaces. There were favourites from 3 professionals in America.

I had previously posted the Geometric typeface on Tumblr. By submitting to users such as Designers Of Tumblr, their posts have much more potential reach. The work received 201 notes (likes and re-blogs)
The Design Confetti is the blog in which I featured.

A feature of my work here: http://paper.li/khalidmajidali/1317108431 due to a retweet of the Type and Eye tweet.
I made sure before submitting, I included these details in the copy.

The curator of the blog from Karachi, Pakistan.

Both of these accounts had relations to the curator.

This is one of my first experiences of exposure outside of the institution and although I respect that this experience is only a start, I am humbled by how communication within the design industry is so abundant and interactive.
Alongside looking into the featured article, I discovered Paper.Li, a Swiss based content curation service which could be used as a platform to expose both my interests and work.
